RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS
Random Acts of Kindness Day 2024
December 1, 2024
Another Random Acts of Kindness Event at Raising Cane’s was a success!
Not only was their hospitality amazing, they donated 125 meals to our cause, and they took it one step further and made their own Random Acts of Kindness cards that were hand written positive affirmations they handed out to their guests. I could not ask for a better partnership and so proud they are a part of the Scott William Hoepfner Foundation family.
Thank you Stephanie and your Team for going above and beyond for us!

And just like that, our 5th Annual event is over.
We laughed. We cried. We made a impact on the community.
To all of our family and friends who took time out of their day to volunteer and to those who donated, I am forever grateful.
Joel, Amanda, Stephanie, and the Cane’s crew, I thank you for our growing partnership and the endless opportunities to make a difference.

Random Acts of Kindness Day 2021
December 1, 2021
TODAY IS THE DAY!!! What are you going to do today to make the world a better place?
On Wednesday, December 1, we would like to create a “Random Acts of Kindness Day 2021” in memory of Scott.
Scott William Hoepfner was an amazing kid: kind-hearted, athletic… funny, a good friend, unselfish… easy-going, humble, sociable, mischievous, and good-natured. He is missed in so many ways by so many people – every minute of every day.
2021 has been tough as we navigate a new normal. So it is no surprise that finding a way to promote kindness for Scott’s “angelversary” has an extra layer of challenge with the COVID restrictions still in place. To prevent having to cancel or postpone, we are going to do things a little different again this year.
Have you ever noticed that when you do something nice for someone, you feel better too? This is because being kind boosts your serotonin and endorphins – something that’s actually known as “helper’s high”. Kindness also eases anxiety – and adding a small act of kindness to your day can help you feel better.
We hope you will join us on December 1st to kindly “pay it forward”.
Look out for the opportunities. Life will provide numerous options to pay it forward… we only have to be attentive.
Everyone at some point could use a little help or boost in happiness.
Help friends and family, but also be willing to help complete strangers!
Give freely without expecting anything in return.
Many people will ask you how they can reimburse you for your kindness. You can introduce these people to the idea of paying it forward. Tell them about Scott - and that you don’t expect anything in return, but that you would greatly appreciate it if they could pay the good deed forward.
Every action, big or small, count.
It doesn’t matter so much how much you give. All that matters is that you are willing to help others (and spreading the word that you are doing so in memory of Scott).
Please post your good deeds on social media with the hashtag #RideforScott.
Photos are very much encouraged – we would love to see how many ways you can come up with to be kind in Scott’s memory.
Here are some ideas to get you started:
Take some food to an animal shelter
Pay for someone’s coffee in line behind you
Donate blood
Encourage others with post-it note messages
Donate old books or clothes
Spend some time with the elderly
Give someone a compliment
Offer to take a photo
Carry someone’s bags
Let someone go in front of you in line
Write a positive review for good service
Leave a tip in Scott’s name
However - if you are time poor but will still like to help spread kindness in honour of Scotty, we would really appreciate you donating to the Scott William Hoepfner Foundation, and we will ensure 100% of your contribution will go to random acts of kindness:

We are a 501c3 charitable organization!
On behalf of Angela, the family and his large circle of friends – THANK YOU for continuing to keep Scott in your heart and minds, and for helping us be visible in reminding the world what an amazing person we have as a part of us all, in Scott William Hoepfner.

A small act of kindness can happen Virtually anywhere!
Covid-19 has kept us from doing an even this year, but we are asking you to remember Scott by doing a Random Act of Kindness. Hold a door open, pay for someone's meal, bake someone some cookies just because, let someone cut in line in front of you, pick up litter, volunteer, call the people you love, give someone a Reese's..... the list goes on and on.
Scott was a giving kid. Not only did he donate his time to different organizations, he also gave his listening ear, his humor, his wisdom, and his material things to anyone that needed it. So do something special in his memory.
Wear red, toast a Reese's to my baby, tell someone about Scott. We miss him very much.
Scott's quote on Twitter "It only takes one person to change the world." I challenge you to be that person.

Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers - Food Giveaway
Friends and Family at our local Cane’s handing out free gift cards!
Our very first Random Acts of Kindness Event! It was a great way to celebrate Scott’s generosity by giving away his favorite food - a Raising Cane’s Caniac Combo. Before the event we raised $1200 and after an additional donation from Cane’s we were able to provide 120 meals to random walk in and drive thru customers. It was a nice way to honor Scott and we plan to do it again in 2020!
Yummy Cane’s Chicken Fingers! Scott’s favorite…ours too!
